Incentives to Invest in Identifiers Report

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and the Australian Access Federation (AAF) commissioned the MoreBrains Cooperative to undertake an analysis of the incentives for adoption of persistent identifiers (PIDs) by the Australian research sector.

The report:

• Sets out the benefits of PIDs to research in Australia primarily though the lens of metadata reuse
• Gives both a time and dollar value to the savings that a comprehensive PID adoption could bring to Australian research
• Provides a series of recommendations for PID adoption in Australia.
