The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) welcomes the opportunity provided by the Department of Education to provide feedback on the Draft National Digital Research Infrastructure Strategy (Draft NDRI strategy).

The development of the NDRI strategy is one of the recommendations outlined in the Department’s 2021 National Research Infrastructure Roadmap. The strategy aims to:

  • establish a vision for a user-centric Australian NDRI system over the next 10-15 years
  • present a high-level strategic direction to steer the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) response to major challenges facing Australia’s NDRI system and users
  • guide government investment and decision-making, particularly through NCRIS.

The ARDC is committed to a number of the identified areas in this draft strategy and plays a leading national role in addressing these.

The ARDC encourages the research, research data and research software community to review the draft NDRI strategy and provide feedback by completing the Department’s questionnaire, by 10am (ADST) Monday 20 November 2023.

The ARDC is funded through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) to support national digital research infrastructure for Australian researchers.
