Held virtually across 3 full days, the 4th National Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) Conference continues to draw on health and medical ethics expertise from around Australia.
Plenary Speakers and Program
The plenary speakers are:
- Associate Professor Monique Jonas, University of Auckland, presenting on “Approving the approvers: The theory and practice of monitoring ethics committees”
- Professor Jackie Leach Scully, UNSW, presenting on “Diversity in research: inclusion imperatives”
- Professor Lyle Palmer, University of Adelaide, presenting on “Artificial intelligence and HRECs – development of guidelines for review of artificial intelligence projects by HRECs”.

Dr Kristan Kang, Program Manager (People Research Data Commons) at the ARDC, will present on HREC approval for data sharing at 13:10 (AEST) on Thursday 30 November in light of the ARDC’s Health Studies Australian National Data Asset (HeSANDA) program and its recently launched Health Data Australia.
