About the Event

The second Geodynamic Adjoint Optimization Platform (G-ADOPT) workshop will be held from 14 to 15 September 2023 at the ANU.

At this in-person workshop, the G-ADOPT team will showcase recent progress on the forward and adjoint components of this finite-element-modelling platform, using the Firedrake and dolfin-adjoint frameworks.

This workshop aims to provide further background to the platform and training for potential users, thus facilitating community growth within Australia.

Agenda

Day 1 will centre around geodynamical application areas, where developers will update on progress, via both presentations and hands-on tutorials.

Day 2 will focus on applications in other areas, including seismic wave propagation, coastal ocean modelling, ice-shelf cavities and tidal turbine optimisation.

There will be an opportunity for interested practitioners to engage with developers and other participants to determine if their problems are tractable within G-ADOPT.
