Future Demands of Research Support

Research support staff are critical to data-intensive research.

In his 2019 presentation to the ARMS 2019 conference in Adelaide, Paul Wong (ARDC) discusses concerns around capacity in eResearch and having the people to facilitate data intensive research. Dr Wong says research support is uneven across sectors with a rise in researchers in universities not proportionally reflected in the rise in support staff. He suspects Higher Degree Research (HDR) students may be carrying the e-work load for research.
