Digital Skills Training in Ecology and Bioinformatics

Enabling easy access to data and analytical tools for researchers requires training and support.

This webinar features 2 training and engagements experts sharing how their skills programs are employing innovative techniques to upskill ecologists and bioinformaticians to better analyse and manage their environmental data.

This session was part of the 2019 Australian eResearch Skilled Workforce Summit – the ARDC invited speakers to give a reprise of their sessions.

In this video, Chantal Huijbers (Griffith University) talks about an innovative training program called ecoEd which takes an holistic approach to environmental spatial data discovery and analysis.

Dr Christina Hall (Australian Biocommons) is also featured and discusses a hybrid bioinformatics training model that combines the advantages of webinar presentations with some valuable components of in-person group training.
