ARDC Project Impact Tracking Requirements for National Data Assets Projects Video

This presentation by the ARDC’s Adrian Burton & Natasha Simons was part of an “Orientation to ARDC services and expertise” series, specifically aimed at people involved in one of the ARDC National Data Assets co-investment projects that commenced in early 2021.

This session explained the ARDC’s project impact tracking requirements for National Data Assets projects.

The ARDC’s National Data Assets portfolio aims to support the development of research data assets and infrastructure to produce reliable high quality research, improve efficiency through greater sharing of resources, catalyse data innovation through data science, and enhance research translation to produce benefits for communities beyond the research sector. To ensure that these strategic goals are achieved, the ARDC requires all National Data Assets projects to plan, implement and report on research outcomes and impact from ARDC-invested activities.

The ARDC 2021 Projects Exchange showcased 41 ARDC co-investment projects that commenced in 2021. This session presents projects in the Platforms program, which aims to increase the number of researchers with access to platforms, both in terms of absolute number and in terms of diversity of disciplines. Platforms are “a set of online services, often with associated integration and/or orchestration functions and connections to specific data resources, that is intended to enable researchers to carry out some of their research activities”. Platforms are also called virtual research environments or virtual laboratories.
