ARDC Statewide Consultations

The ARDC is currently developing its five year strategy and capital plans. As part of the strategic planning cycle ARDC wishes to engage with a range of resource providers, institutions and research organisations, e-infrastructure providers, peak bodies and government.

Amongst the ARDC’s partner organisations in the delivery of national eResearch capability are providers including Australia’s high performance computing facilities (Pawsey and the National Computational Infrastructure), Australia’s academic network provider (AARNet), and the provider of Australia’s research sector identity services (the Australian Access Federation). We anticipate these organisations will also be represented at these meetings in order to enable a rich, broad, and comprehensive discussion.

These statewide events are an opportunity to provide input into the ARDC’s long term planning and will guide the development of the ARDC strategy and capital plan exposure drafts, to be circulated around the middle of December 2018.

Information sessions will take place nationally during late November and early December 2018. For those unable to attend in person, Zoom video attendance, attendance at a meeting in another state, and alternative opportunities for feedback will be possible.

UPDATE

Recordings of consultations

The introduction and general discussion of the NSW and QLD consultations are available in the table below.

Online feedback

We are seeking input from those who are unable to attend one of our consultations.  We have created an online form and ask that you complete this with your feedback on the selected topics. .

We would also like you to contribute to our short survey of six questions that will inform our strategy around Skills. The focus is on the skills needed by the workforce that enables researchers to do data intensive research. The ARDC plans to continue the conversation around the possibilities of a more cohesive, national approach to skills development in 2019.

These forms will be open for feedback until Thursday 6 December COB.
