Seeking your feedback on our Software and Platforms Strategy

Categorised: News

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) is structuring its activities around four strategic themes (People and Policy, Data and Services, Software and Platforms, and Storage and Compute) and a strategic capstone (Coordination and Coherence).

The Software and Platforms Strategy [PDF, 332KB] details the principles guiding the ARDC investment in software and platforms and we would like feedback from the community on the main elements of this strategy.

Feedback can be sent via email to Andrew Treloar with the subject “Software and Platforms Strategy Feedback” by 14 August 2019.

The strategy also provides the context for our call for expressions of interest (EOIs) and subsequent request for proposals (RFP) in our Platforms Program.

The EOI phase is intended to facilitate collaboration between researchers, research groups, research organisations and communities around a proposed Platform investment, with the aim of investing in projects that will deliver improved outcomes. As such, all EOIs will be made public upon submission, and ARDC will broker discussions between similar EOIs so that shared proposals can be developed and submitted in the RFP phase.

The RFP phase is a competitive funding call and will only be open to those who submitted an EOI, and their collaborators. The table below provides an indicative time frame for these activities.
