Call for Storage and Compute Discovery Activities proposals

Categorised: IMPACT

Following the launch of the Data Services open call on 1 April 2019, another Discovery Activities theme is calling for project proposals that investigate the issues, current and future trends, gaps and requirements in, and for, research storage and compute infrastructures.

Over the next few years, the Australian Research Data Commons will engage in activities that involve significant capital and operational investments in research infrastructures. A key aim of the Storage and Compute theme is to engage a broad range of stakeholders within the eResearch sector to develop projects that specifically address what infrastructures, including data storage and compute, are needed to:

  • foster excellence in research
  • create collaborative platforms that can be used to generate and analyse data
  • maximise the value of data assets.

From Wednesday, 10 April 2019, we invite organisations involved in the Australian research sector that have a passion for technologies, techniques, and services that underpin a national research data commons to submit proposals relating to a range of key questions. Projects of up to AU$ 50,000 and with a completion date of 13 September 2019 are eligible for funding.

Visit the Storage and Compute Discovery Activities project page for more information about the open call and register for the webinar, on 18 April 2019, to have your questions answered.
