Expression of Interest: Program Manager (Health Studies Data)

The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) is a national research infrastructure that provides Australian researchers with competitive advantage through data.

The ARDC is currently seeking expressions of interest from experts and practitioners working with health research data, such as through infrastructure development and improvement of data sharing practices, to lead the Health Studies Australian National Data Asset (HeSANDA) program as part of the ARDC’s People Research Data Commons.

This is an exciting opportunity to be seconded to the ARDC for up to 18 months.

Our mission is to accelerate research and innovation by driving excellence in the creation, analysis and retention of high quality data. We do this by providing the Australian research community and industry with access to nationally significant, data intensive digital research infrastructure, platforms, skills and collections of high quality data.

If successful, you will be working on a range of exciting and groundbreaking initiatives, which include:

  • leading the HeSANDA program to improve health outcomes through the more effective use of health studies data in research
  • strengthening the clinical trials data sharing program
  • extending the HeSANDA data sharing model to observational studies
  • scoping upcoming programs of work in:
    • secure access environments
    • data harmonisation
    • Advanced Analytics
    • Secondary Data Users’ Group
  • engaging with key stakeholders nationally on input and buy-in to the program
  • designing, delivering, and documenting an effective program of work.

This position will provide exciting opportunities for the successful candidate to be seconded to the ARDC for up to 18 months. In return for your skills and experience, you will have the opportunity to broaden your experience and be exposed to some of the country’s leading minds and experts in research infrastructure.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • experience in a health research environment (desirably clinical trials or cohort studies)
  • program management skills in a complex multi-organisational environment
  • an ability to analyse and synthesise researcher needs into solutions
  • exposure to some elements of health data sharing, secure data access, data analysis, data harmonisation or evidence synthesis
  • clear communication and stakeholder engagement
  • leadership skills.

Duration

Fixed-term secondment up to 18 months

Renumeration

Will be negotiated depending on individual skills and experience

Location

Work arrangements will be aligned with our host institution’s requirements, including expectations for time spent on campus. The ARDC’s offices are located at host institutions across Australia.

Fraction

The secondment is available on a full time basis. Applications for part-time arrangements will be considered.
