Inactive Communities

This ARDC group held a virtual meeting every month for Australian and New Zealand data providers, repository operators and data consumers. It offered a chance to discuss challenges and strategies for meeting data quality standards and procedures, and to connect to international data quality communities to exchange experiences and best practices.

This group brought together people working in software citation to champion the FORCE11 principles, exchange lessons learned and support the description, management and discovery of research software.

The ARDC, AARNet and ADA supported this community to discuss the challenges and strategies for managing sensitive data. It was aimed at the ‘research supporters’ (such as infrastructure providers, librarians, policy writers and implementers). We gathered every couple of months to hear expert speakers and enable community discussion.

This group aimed to exchange practices, establish visibility of data services, discuss interoperability issues and identify opportunities for collective action.

The ARDC worked with a small number of organisations to capture and share information about current practice, and proposed approaches to dynamic data citation. Membership included representatives from the Integrated Marine Observing System, Geoscience Australia, Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network, National Computational Infrastructure and CSIRO.

In this group, participants exchanged experiences with OPeNDAP framework, applications and a suite of related technologies.

The ARDC works with eResearch and research data management support staff within research and research infrastructure organisations to support data-related competency and capability building. We regularly held state-based roundtables related to research data management in capital cities. For more information see the roundtables in VIC/TAS, NSW, SA, ACT, WA, and QLD.

Group members discussed making research software citable, published and FAIR. It was of interest to those who are keen to make research software more visible, especially those who support researchers that create research software. Group members could be from a university, research institute or facility, industry or government agency.
