Science at the Shine Dome is the Australian Academy of Science’s flagship event to celebrate excellence in science. It offers a unique opportunity to hear from the most distinguished scientists in Australia from across all disciplines. At this year’s Science at the Shine Dome, you will hear hours of fascinating science from newly elected Academy Fellows and Academy awardees from all scientific areas – from reconstructing Australia’s forests, to data that is making a difference, to innovations improving human health.
You are invited to join over 100 early- and mid-careers researchers (EMCRs) already registered to attend. These EMCRs will have the opportunity to hear world-leading scientists from across all disciplines, as well as network with other EMCRs, Academy Fellows, Academy awardees, university, industry and government representatives, and many others.
The ARDC is proud to be a sponsor of Science at the Shine Dome 2024.
The event will be held across 4 days and 3 evenings, from Monday 9 September to Thursday 12 September.
In addition to hearing from remarkable scientists, the networking opportunities at the event are unparalleled. During every catered break, you will have the opportunity to meet a wide range of people from across the science sector. You will also meet a diverse range of other EMCRs, including those from across the Asia-Pacific region.
The ARDC will be at the Shine Dome to introduce our work, including the Planet Research Data Commons for earth and environmental science research, during the lunch break on Tuesday 10 September.
The Hon Ed Husic MP, Minister for Industry and Science, will give the keynote address at the Gala Dinner on Wednesday 11 September.
View the full, detailed program, and find the names of Fellows and awardees presenting.
Registration closes at 11:59 pm (AEST) on Sunday 1 September, if not sold out before this date.
Science at the Shine Dome 2024 will be livestreamed. The livestream will cover all ceremonies and presentations inside the Ian Wark Theatre at the Shine Dome.
If you are unable to join in-person for the full 4-day program, you are encouraged to register your in-person attendance for selected sessions and join virtually for the remainder of the program. All registered participants, whether online or in-person, will receive access to the livestream.
