About the Event

Research infrastructure is defined as “assets, facilities, services, and associated expertise” to support research and innovation. This includes resources and assets such as data, databases and collections, data management platforms, software, hardware, compute and storage, equipment and tools, buildings and facilities, creative methods, surveys, protocols and standards, trust and identify frameworks, and a skilled workforce supporting all of these resources and services.

The workshop will feature lightning talks from ADM+S Signature projects on key research infrastructure tools, data and methods to support the sharing and networking of resources and skills across the centre and beyond. Collaboration and infrastructure sharing will be central to the event, creating a space where attendees can exchange research methods and ideas.

There will be a particular focus on exploring the tools and methods that will be available via the Australian Internet Observatory (AIO), a major new national research infrastructure facility being led by researchers at ADM+S, with investment from the Australian Research Data Commons, as part of the HASS and Indigenous Research Data Commons.

This workshop is a pre-workshop of the 2024 ADM+S Symposium: Automated Mobilities, to be held from 15 to 17 October 2024 at UNSW Kensington Campus.

Who Should Attend

  • Researchers interested in learning about what tools and methods are available now, and contributing their ideas of what they would like in the future
  • Those working with research infrastructure involving internet data.
