About the Event

Hosted by Australian Catholic University (ACU) in Brisbane, the 2024 Research Bazaar Queensland will be a festival of digital research training, where researchers from all disciplines can come together to learn new skills in an interactive, collaborative and above all, fun setting. Featuring workshops, talks, discussion sessions, networking and plenty of social activities, ResBaz Queensland provides participatory training spanning nearly 50 different topics of cutting-edge digital research tools and techniques.

Program

Sessions at this year’s ResBaz Queensland will offer a brief practical introduction to a broad selection of topics and tools related to digital research practice relevant across the disciplines. Topics include:

  • statistical comparisons in R
  • using the EcoCommons platform to run species distribution models
  • a new tool for managing access to sensitive research data
  • introduction to programming – plotting and programming with Python
  • how to fix slow code
  • introduction to data cleaning with OpenRefine
  • demistifying AI for research
  • personal branding for researchers
  • REDCap workshop
  • KeyPoint workshop
  • how to design ‘design methods’ to support participation in research.
