Getting Started with the Nectar Research Cloud (March 2026)

Join us at Pawsey for a free in-person workshop for researchers to learn the basics of using the ARDC Nectar Research Cloud.

About the Event

Does your computer struggle with your research workload? Do you want to access extra resources and share a computer with collaborators? Whether it’s data analysis, simulation or other computing work, the ARDC Nectar Research Cloud can help with your research by providing more computation power.

Nectar provides researchers with access to fast, secure and powerful cloud computers. During this free workshop, you will learn what Nectar is, how it could help you, and how to navigate the Nectar Dashboard.

This session will be held in conjunction with the ARDC and Pawsey Nectar Research Cloud Showcase. Learn more and register now.

Program

In this free workshop, you will get hands-on experience:

  • accessing support and documentation
  • navigating the Nectar Dashboard
  • setting up and launching a cloud computer
  • connecting to a cloud computer using the command line.

Attendance Requirements

No prior knowledge or experience is required. Prereading for beginners is provided.

Please include your university or institutional email address in your registration. This is required to log into the Nectar Dashboard.

This is an in-person workshop. If you want to attend online training, please complete our expression of interest form and check for upcoming sessions.
