About the Event
Don’t let limited computing power slow down your research. The ARDC Nectar Research Cloud provides researchers with more computational power. During this free workshop, you will learn what cloud computing is, how Nectar can help you, and how to navigate the Nectar Dashboard.
Whether you need to run intensive data analyses and complex simulations, train AI and ML models, manage big data or collaborate seamlessly across institutions, Nectar gives you the computational power to scale up your work.
Program
In this free workshop, you will get hands-on experience:
- accessing support and documentation
- navigating the Nectar Dashboard
- setting up and launching a cloud computer
- connecting to a cloud computer using the command line.
Attendance Requirements
No prior knowledge or experience is required. Prereading for beginners is provided.
Please include your university or institutional email address in your registration. This is required to log into the Nectar Dashboard.
To create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment, everyone is expected to be aware of and follow the ARDC Code of Conduct.
Format
This is an online workshop, and will not have an in-person venue or accommodate in-person or hybrid attendance. You can join from any location, as long as you have internet access. If you want to attend in-person training, please complete our expression of interest form and check for upcoming sessions.
To participate in this online workshop, you will need Zoom installed on your computer. You can download Zoom for free. A Zoom link will be sent to registered participants prior to the training.
Please note this session will not be recorded.
Users of an AI meeting assistant must explicitly inform participants about the use of the tool and request consent from all participants before the meeting. The user should also declare the use of the tool at the beginning of the meeting and should only use it if all participants approve.
