About the Event

Are you a researcher or a research support professional, looking to access more powerful computing resources?

The ARDC Nectar Research Cloud (Nectar) is Australia’s national research cloud for researchers and research institutions. Nectar provides fast, interactive, self-service access to large-scale computing infrastructure, software and data. Nectar is also a powerful platform for collaboration. Since its launch in 2012, it has enabled over 25,000 users to work on more than 6000 projects. Nectar powers national services for virtual desktops, Jupyter Notebooks, BinderHub and GPUs. It’s easy to access at no cost to eligible researchers.

With the launch of the new Pawsey node of Nectar, we’re showcasing how researchers and research support professionals can harness the power of Nectar for research.

The showcase will cover:

  • What is the ARDC Nectar Research Cloud? An explanation of cloud computing and its advantages for research
  • Introducing the new Pawsey Nectar node: What resources are now in WA?
  • Differences between cloud and HPC
  • Services and features available on Nectar
  • Real-world use cases: fellow researchers talk about their Nectar usage journey
  • Training opportunities and support available for users*
  • Q&A – an opportunity to ask questions and connect with our team

Don’t miss this opportunity to discover how Nectar can enhance your research. Register today, spaces are limited.

*You can also register to attend live Nectar training on Thursday, 12 March, or express interest in training events.
