About the Event

The ARDC has launched the People Research Data Commons (People RDC), an initiative supported by the Australian Government to deliver national-scale data infrastructure for health research and translation.

In partnership with the Australian Data Science Network (ADSN), we are now inviting you to participate in the development of a framework for a People RDC activity to address data challenges in advanced analytics and AI. Your data needs, challenges and aspirations in the health research and translation space will be crucial to the framework.

  • What do you see as the biggest challenges to the scientific community in this area?
  • What do you think is the national research infrastructure component most needed to support advanced analytics of health data?

The People RDC develops, operates and coordinates national-scale capabilities to support digital health research and translation. Infrastructure is defined as shared resources or coordinated activities that support the research sector, such as:

  • tools, platforms, virtual labs and collaboratories
  • synthetic data and reference data assets
  • sensitive data processing, including federated learning
  • data management and curation
  • compute, storage and network infrastructure
  • communities of practice
  • training and development
  • guides, policies and risk management.

Format and Registration

Participate in our co-design workshop for a national infrastructure framework for advanced healthcare analytics at any one of the following times (in AEST):

  • 2 to 4 pm, Wednesday 19 June
  • 11 am to 1 pm, Friday 21 June
  • 11 am to 1 pm, Monday 24 June.

Please register by 12 noon (AEST), Monday 17 June. Your participation in the consultation will enable us to develop a framework that is comprehensive and useful to the entire community at large.

Who Should Attend

  • Research engineers
  • Researchers with an interest in analytics and healthcare
  • Academics
  • University librarians
  • Researchers who code
  • Research data specialists
  • eResearch infrastructure providers
  • Research support professionals
  • Those interested in analytics and AI in healthcare in government and industry, including startups

Other Ways to Participate

If you are unable to participate in any workshop, we will try to solicit your input by an alternative mode, which could be a small focus group, an interview or a questionnaire. Please let us know your preferred alternative, preferably by Monday 10 June 2024.

About the ARDC People Research Data Commons

The ARDC People Research Data Commons (People RDC) is delivering national-scale data infrastructure for health research and translation.

Researchers, innovators and policymakers seek to improve health outcomes for society, and yet the data and digital platforms they need span multiple layers of government, health service operations, health research studies, institutes, facilities and the private sector. The People RDC initiative develops, operates and coordinates national-scale capabilities to support digital health research and translation.
