Introducing the Institutional Underpinnings Draft Research Data Management Framework - A webinar for national research infrastructure and service providers
Introducing the Institutional Underpinnings Draft Research Data Management Framework - A webinar for national research infrastructure and service providers
Wed, 4 May 2022 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Institutional Underpinnings is a collaborative project between 25 of Australia’s universities to develop a shared approach to university research data management in the form of a nationally-agreed Framework. The program aims to increase Australian universities’ capability in research data management and encourage collective problem-solving and alignment across the sector.
The draft Research Data Management Framework is now open for consultation. The Framework was developed by the 25 participating universities, with more than 90 experts contributing to working groups to identify and develop the key elements that are included. The Australian research community is invited to review the Framework and provide feedback, which will help inform the final version.
This webinar is open to all, but is intended for those who work in NCRIS capabilities and other national research organisations and platforms. We will describe the development of the draft Framework and talk about the kind of feedback that we are seeking from those who work with Australia’s universities in the production and management of research data.
We are also holding three other webinars: one intended for universities, one intended for non-university research institutions, and one for other members of the sector.

Tech Talk 14: Implementing the OHDSI OMOP Common Data Model for Medical Research
Tech Talk 14: Implementing the OHDSI OMOP Common Data Model for Medical Research
Thu, 26 May 2022 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm
Title: Implementing the OHDSI OMOP Common Data Model for Medical Research ===
Subscribe to get access to the Zoom meeting. This is the ARDC Public invite. More to follow at: http://tiny.cc/techtalk_2020
=== Abstract: The Common Data Model allows data consolidation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) from diverse hospital and GP sources, enhancing research breadth. The Observational Health Data Science and Informatics, Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership common data model (OHDSI OMOP or OMOP) has a very large international community working towards open source research tools and capabilities. The ARDC is investing to accelerate research in the medical domain through the conversion of key hospital and general practice EMR datasets to this model, through an EMR to OMOP public sector bridges project. In this talk, we shall present the rationale for converting data to this model and the challenges and lessons learnt in converting datasets to this model. Project DOI:10.47486/PS014
Presenter:
- Contact dboyle -at- unimelb.edu.au
Target Audience:
Developers and technical experts working within these projects to design and implement the required solutions. The target audience is not end-users, researchers, or managers - although anyone with an interest in the technicalities is welcome.
