IMOS Takes Significant Step Towards International Trust Certification

We congratulate IMOS on completing its CoreTrustSeal application.
IMOS Certification NEWS TILE

The ARDC congratulates the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) on completing their CoreTrustSeal application.

CoreTrustSeal is an internationally recognised certification about the trustworthiness of data repositories.

IMOS operates a wide range of observing equipment throughout Australia’s coastal and open oceans, and makes all of its data openly and freely accessible to the marine and climate science community, other stakeholders and users, and international collaborators.

IMOS has been working with the ARDC Trusted Data Repository Community towards its CoreTrustSeal Certification. Now the application has been submitted, it will be reviewed and signed off by the CoreTrustSeal Board. The process will be repeated every 3 years to maintain certification.

The ARDC Trusted Data Repository Community meets regularly to share, review and progress CoreTrustSeal applications, and participants come from NCRIS facilities, Government agencies and universities that hold data for a community of users.

IMOS is the first organisation to submit their application to CoreTrustSeal as part of the ARDC Community, with several more in the pipeline.

To join the ARDC Trusted Data Repository Community, contact Richard Ferrers, ARDC Research Data Specialist or visit the community website.

The ARDC and IMOS are funded through the Australian Government National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
