The ARDC is pleased to announce the appointment of Carmel Walsh to the position of Director, eResearch Infrastructure and Services. In this role, Carmel will take responsibility for the ARDC’s Storage and Compute theme, overseeing the implementation and management of reliable and sustainable infrastructure and associated services to provide Australian researchers with competitive advantage through data.
Carmel has a wealth of experience as a senior executive working across information technology, higher education and corporate sectors. In particular, her significant track record in providing customer-driven digital solutions to enhance operational excellence will be a tremendous asset to the ARDC.
Most recently, Carmel was Head of IT Infrastructure and Service Management at Melbourne Water, leading a number of strategic initiatives to transform IT service management and infrastructure services. From 2008-2017, she held senior positions in IT services and engagement at the University of Sydney, where she successfully implemented the underpinning infrastructure to support the university’s new eResearch and eLearning platforms.
We look forward to welcoming Carmel to the ARDC team on 20th July.
